Western New York Alliance Program
Tuesday October 2nd, 2007

Tax increment financing (TIF) has been used to finance infrastructure costs and jumpstart development in overlooked locations. Municipalities in 48 other states have utilized this popular economic development tool to facilitate major redevelopment projects spearheaded by shopping center and mixed-use developers and destination retailers. Although this tool is widely accepted elsewhere, it is grossly underutilized in the state of New York. Listen to a panel of TIF professionals provide their insight to how developers, retailers and municipalities can use this tool to jumpstart development in the Empire State’s downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts.
