Mayor Byron W. Brown and the Buffalo Economic Renaissance Corporation are pleased to announce that the National Brownfields Association has selected Buffalo, New York for their 2008 Fall regional Conference.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for the City of Buffalo to showcase our extremely successful brownfield remediation and redevelopment efforts," said Mayor Brown. "From the Buffalo Lakeside Commerce Park to the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Regional Headquarters, Buffalo is leading the way in New York State brownfield development and now other cities from the region will get the opportunity to see these successes first hand. I am pleased to welcome the National Brownfield Association and its partners to Buffalo this fall, and I also want to thank the Buffalo Niagara Convention and Visitors Bureau for all of their hard work on helping to bring this conference to our city."
The conference will be held on September 11th and 12th at the Adam’s Mark hotel in Downtown Buffalo. Conference participants will be coming from the Northeastern United States and Southern Ontario. Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of Buffalo’s redevelopment sites, including the former Union Ship Canal property now known as the Buffalo Lakeside Commerce Park, the former LTV Steel site now known as the Buffalo Riverbend Commerce Park, as well as other waterfront and city locations.
