The Buffalo Niagara region is attracting interest from major developers and retailers from across the country, changing the face of retail in the region overnight. The City of Buffalo has positioned itself to cash in on the retail activity through a bold plan for redeveloping its waterfront. Come hear an update on plans, as well as presentations on model waterfront development efforts in other east coast cities and how retail impacted those projects. Also, stay for a "retailer's showcase" featuring select retailers in the Buffalo Niagara market.
The Alliance program is a cooperative effort between the International Council of Shopping Centers and our local partners: The City of Buffalo, Buffalo Economic Renaissance Corporation, Buffalo Niagara Enterprise, and Buffalo Place. This program is intended to explore how public/private partnerships can work together to synthesize the needs of the community with private investment strategy. This program has been crafted by private sector industry practitioners, local government and community economic development professionals and is intended for professionals involved in the ownership, management and development of community neighborhood centers as well as community development corporations, economic development agencies and cities and counties interested in attracting new sources of retail revenue to their communities. This program represents a unique opportunity for community representatives, local officials, developers, retailers and brokers to meet, understand one another’s needs, and develop relationships.
